Nat’l science fest ends at JU


JU Live: The prize-giving ceremony of a two-day long ‘3rd JUSC National Science Festival-2019′ was held on Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus here on Saturday. With the slogan, ‘Think scientifically, expose your ability’, Jahangirnagar University Science Club (JUSC), a science-based social organization of the university has organized the festival at Zahir Raihan auditorium.

Professor Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq addressed the programme as chief guest while the president of JUSC Khondokar Oliullah Sa’ad was in the chair.

Conducted by Tarek Aziz and Afifa Anjum Oishi, Professor Md Khabir Uddin, the chief advisor of JUSC, and Professor Kabirul Bashar of Zoology department were present as the special guests.

A total of 60 prizes were awarded to the winners in different competitive events which were held on Friday, the beginning day of the festival, at the Zahir Raihan Auditorium premises. ‘

A robotics workshop was held on Saturday morning while the Vice-president of JUSC Tajim Md Niamatullah Akhund imparted it.

Besides, the members of JUSC imparted a career guideline programme for the school and college level students.

Earlier, at the beginning day of the festival, about 1000 students of School, College, and University level from different institutions across the country took part in the festival.

Professor Mohammad Kaykobad of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) was the chief guest in the inauguration programme on Friday.

The two-day long festival was featured with poster presentations, a project showcasing and quiz contests for university-level students, idea contests, robotic workshops, Rubik’s cube gaming competition, road to university and project presentations for the school and college level students.
