Bangladesh delegates call for greater economic

Bangladesh High Commissioner said fast-growing India and Bangladesh should combine their synergies in the areas of connectivity, trade, commerce and energy for the mutual benefit for the two neighbours as well as for the region.

“Connectivity offers a game-changing opportunity for India and Bangladesh,” he added.

Ali said Bangladesh’s jump to the status of a developing nation from LDC category will create new opportunities in Indo-Bangla economic cooperation. “Cooperation in the energy sector is the hallmark of our renewed engagements,” he observed.

Explaining the UN-selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Abul Kalam Azad said this means caring for the future generations’ needs after meeting the requirement of the present.

Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh has adopted a policy of inclusive economy so that no one is left behind, he said.
