Separate complaints have been filed over their disappearance with Banani police.
Kamal Hossain, 21, Imam Hossain 27, Hasan Mahmud, 26, and Tawhidur Rahman, 26 are the four people who suddenly went a�?missinga��.
Details about Tawhidur could not be known immediately but police say he was friends with the other three.
Kamal studied at New Iskatona��s Jamia Islamid Darul Ulum Madrasa. Imam and Hasan did MA in computer science after graduating from BRAC Universitya��s Electronics and Electrical Engineering department and later they all joined Intercom Trade International and Telex Limited company.
Police said three separate general diaries had been filed over the missing persons on June 3 and 4.
Banani policea��s Sub-Inspector Bazlur Rahman informed reporters that he was investigating two of the GDs and SI Sohel Rana was looking into the other one.
SI Bazlur said that Kamal disappeared on the morning of June 3 and the other two went missing in the afternoon. He said the disappearances were a�?mysteriousa��.
a�?All three were practicing Muslims. We could not confirm yet whether they left everything behind to join militancy. We are trying to find them,a�? the police official added.
Kamala��s maternal uncle Rashid Alam said his nephew lived at Karail Boro Masjid mess. He went out on the morning of June 3 for office and had not returned since.
Rashid said Kamal, Imam and Hasan were good friends and they all married from the same area in Chittagong.
Kamala��s uncle Rashid reportedly went to Banani from Mirpur to look for his nephew and called his friend Imam to inquire about my nephew and asked him if they had any of Kamala��s pictures.
a�?Around 5:30pm, Imam and Hasan met me at Banania��s Chairman Bari area and handed over Kamala��s picture. Their mobile phones, too, had been switched off since then. I later learned that the two had also disappeared,a�? Rashid said.
Kamal, hailing from Chandpura��s north Matlab upazila, is eldest of his three siblings. A Banani police source said Imam hailed from Tejgaona��s Monipuripara. He joined Telex Limited as a software engineer in last September.
Banani police SI Sohel Rana said Hasan lived at a rented flat in Mohakhalia��s Wireless Gate area. He hailed from Habiganj, where he studied in a madrasa.
a�?We are investigating how they just went off the radar. Their last traced location is Banani and their mobile phones have been switched off since their disappearance,a�? SI Sohel Rana added.
Four youths had gone missing together from Banani on December 1 last year. They were Safayet Hossain, Zayen Hossain Khan Pavel, Sujon, and Mehedi Hawlader.
Safayet and Pavel used to study at the North South University.
Unidentified men dropped Mehedi on April 18 from a microbus. Sujon and Pavel were dropped in similar manner on May 28. The three however, could not provide information about their abductors.
Safayet is still missing.
Care Medical College student Forhad disappeared from Matikata on November 30. On December 5, two other youths, including one Sayeed Anwar Khan, went missing. They could not be traced yet.
