Tasnim Fatema Alo, Nahid Kanon and Umme Naima Islam received Quazi Motahar Hussain scholarship, while Tasmia Saad Sutopa, Nishat tasnim Tushti and Minul Islam got the award.
Another three students – Durjoy dey, Pritom Saha and Sabina Akhter – got
‘Quazi Motahar Hussain Foundation Award’ in an essay writing competition on
“Life and works of Quazi Motahar Hussain”.

Quazi Motahar Hussain Foundation, the Department of Statistics and the
Institute of Statistical Research and Training jointly organised the
function, marking the 121st birth anniversary of the late professor of the
Motahar Hussain’s daughter Sanjida Khatun presided over the function while
Dr M Ataharul Islam delivered ‘Quazi Motahar Hussain memorial lecture’.
Born in Kushtia in 1897, the eminent educationist and philosopher started
teaching in the newly established Dhaka University in 1921. He passed away in
